There are a host of things to do in Cornwall so to explore some the activities click on the links and plan some of your days out.
Beaches
There are many beaches close Pendower House. Explore the coast of Mousehole or Marazion Beach or even pop down to the coves around Newlyn. Porthcurno and Sennen are very popular beaches.
For surfing, Sennen is the best local beach and the Sennen Surfing Centre is a great place to learn.
Cycling
Cycling in Cornwall is very popular and is a great way to explore the county.
Outings
For something different why not visit the Gweek Seal Sanctuary or take a cruise up the River Fal. If it rains visit Geevor tin mine or the Porthcurno Telegraph Museum.
Fish and Fishing
Fishing off the pier in Newlyn harbour is very popular. For sea fishing trips Penzance harbour is an ideal starting point. Try our all the fish shops along the harbour and the shellfish shop on the Coombe. Perhaps rise early and buy at the market.
Gardens
Cornwall has some of the best gardens in the country. Three interesting gardens that are only a few miles from Pendower House are Trewidden Gardens, Trengwainton Gardens and the Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens.
Newlyn Filmhouse
Newlyn has a very popular arts filmhouse with restaurant above. Well worth a visit on a rainy day.
Walking
The south west coastal path in this area offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. Keen walkers can also venture inland to include some of Cornwall's wonderful prehistoric sites.
Climbing and Trekking
The spectacular cliffs of Cornwall are a challenge to climb but coasteering is a great way to see the county. Perhaps a more leisurely way to explore would be by trekking on horseback.
Painting
The standard of art and of teaching art in Cornwall is very high. For those wanting to learn to paint there is the Newlyn Art School, the St Ives School of Art and of course you can learn here in my studio.
Eating Out
Newlyn offers much culinary splendour including the restaurant at the Cinema and don't forget the ice creams at Jelberts. Try also Mackerel Sky in Newlyn, The Old Coastguard Hotel in Mousehole, The Kings Arms, St Just, The Old Success, Sennen, and The Bay Restaurant, Penzance.
